Focus - St Peter's on Tour

On 24 July 156 of us headed up to Mablethorpe in Lincolnshire for our church week away. We joined HTB for their annual holiday along with a load of other church plants.

The week was filled with not only amazing teaching from the likes of Christine Caine, Hillsong’s Gary Clarke, Mike Pilavachi, Nicky Gumbel and our very own Archie Coates, evening entertainment, seminars, beach, sports, but what I really loved was the BBQ lunches every afternoon at the St Peter’s tent... ‘Paella Tuesday’ was a big highlight! Sometimes on a Sunday you chat to people and think how nice it would be to not have to rush off. At Focus it felt like we all had that extra time to get to know each other, eat together, worship and party at ‘Out of Focus’ till late.

I really loved the feeling of all being there together as ‘St Peter’s’. This was especially obvious on the ‘Neon Night’ at the bar, where all of us from St Peter’s came fully prepared – after Archie’s 80’s Party – with neon attire to dance the night away, in the end it seemed we were the only group who dressed up – you couldn’t really miss us!

The beach was not a let down and most afternoons there was a game of Touch Rugby to be had, or chilling in someone’s caravan. If you weren’t able to make it this year, I can’t recommend it enough for next year!
