Hot Off The Pitch! St Peter's Men Play Rugby
On Saturday morning, last week, the 'Under 30s' challenged the 'Vets' to a gentlemanly game of touch rugby. At 10:30 am, twenty of St Peter's men met up in Preston Park for a game of 7-a-side, along with several friends (from Brighton, and some ringers who happened to 'just be visiting')!
With the sun shining brightly - and with plenty of the friends, wives, fiancés, girlfriends (and children!) cheering them on - there were huge displays of commitment, speed and creativity by everyone who had the ball in their hands.
As the rules came to light - through St Peter's very own "Rev"eree - the game became increasingly spirit filled, energetic and ever so slightly boisterous! Whilst officially the scoreboard shows "the Vets" (many with significantly more games and seasons under their belt) won the day this time round, a rematch has already been scheduled for Sunday 24th April after the morning service. A rough calendar for a monthly game has also been agreed.
All are welcome to attend and picnics, BBQs and drinks are being encouraged for the next big game! (There is a big adventure playground right next to the pitch for the kids too!) Under 30's play in light tops and Vets in dark colours. See you there!
