New to Brighton
My husband and I moved to Brighton a couple of months ago for his job as a doctor at the Royal Sussex. We found the transition in to life at St Peter’s so much easier than we had hoped and for us joining a team from the beginning really helped (we have joined the Six Team – which aims to make St Peter’s the most welcoming place to be on a Sunday evening).
Being in a team makes the process of getting to know people far less daunting, if you’re anything like me I find it much easier to talk to new people when I feel like I have a role and I belong to a group, and practically you are able to know 30-50 people at a time rather than 500 people.
When we arrived we really wanted to find community and Brighton and we have found St Peter’s to be an incredibly welcoming place, in just a few weeks we feel far more settled than we have done in a church for some time.
