Prayer For Brighton
On Friday 17 September, 40 or so of us gathered inside the church hall for the St Peters Night of Prayer. From 7pm until midnight, we worshipped God and prayed for matters like Students, Kids Church and the Alpha Course (starting 6 October), and it made me think of the beginning of St Peters and the excitement that the Holy Spirit brings when we bring our prayers before God.
Then on Saturday morning, from 8-9am, when most people were fast asleep, 35 men of St Peters got together for the 1st Men’s Power Hour in the church. There was a time to sing, pray, share and even shout out to God. We looked through The Lords Prayer and a small group even decided to walk around the church seven times praying for all sorts of wonderful things. We all left the church and moved onto to a café.
Being part of a growing church means there are always new people every week so I really enjoyed speaking to men that I haven’t yet had the opportunity to speak to on a Sunday, and praying for one another as a team and feeling like a community. It would be fantastic if we could grow this community at St Peters, as I know there are a lot more men in the church so come along next time!
