The restoration of St Peter’s took a giant leap forward this month when the English Heritage project to repair the roof and make the building watertight was finally completed after two years of planning, fundraising and contracts. The newly-opened up space will allow the church to grow again: more than 600 people came to the services on the first Sunday after the scaffolding came down.
